Electronics Design Engineer

ELECTRONICS DESIGN ENGINEER

Diamond Electric Manufacturing Corporation seeks an Electronics Design Engineer in Farmington Hills, MI, responsible for electrical engineering design, customization, enhancement, and testing procedures for our power/motor control and hybrid IC/power module electronic products in support of the ongoing development of these core technologies for application within the U.S. automotive and home appliance markets. Specific duties of this position include: (i) defining electrical engineering design specifications for the development of Ion Sense, I/C ignition coils, and printed circuit board (PCB) ignitors in accordance with Diamond Electric’s power/motor and hybrid IC/power modules and electronic control technologies and customer-specific automotive requirements/global OEM market trends; (ii) providing technical recommendations, and serving as a technical troubleshooter to the customer services/sales teams to ensure optimal/uniform engineering designs across all power/motor and hybrid IC/power module products for the U.S. automotive market/in alignment with key OEM specifications; (iii) developing electrical engineering proposals using computer-aided design (CAD) technologies for new power/motor and hybrid IC/power module electronic control products, including identifying and resolving technical issues, customizing, and enhancing engineering design improvements for existing electronics products; (iv) modifying electrical engineering designs and updating circuit drawings/ PCB layouts for subsystem modes and component parts in accordance with key OEM customer requirements; (v) conducting electrical engineering design studies and DV testing for new component parts; (vi) designing and developing electrical equipment tests and leading engineering design tests for electrical component materials; (vii) developing PCB engineering design placement strategies and preparing plane definitions for new motor controls, Ion Sense, I/C ignition coil and ignitor designs; (viii) performing electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) optimization tests and processing designs for newly developed electronic component parts; and (ix) preparing Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) technical documents.

Must have a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electronic Engineering or a directly related field plus five (5) years of post-baccalaureate and progressively responsible experience in a related Electronics Design Engineer position.

Must have five (5) years of experience (can be concurrent) with invertor control technology components/modules, including each of the following: (i) PCB layout designs and circuit plane definition criteria; (ii) EMC optimization and testing procedures; (iii) EMS and EMI reporting and evaluation metrics; (iv) electrical engineering design and quality management flow process methodologies; (v) electronic circuit, simulator, and platform designs based on IEC60335 and UL-840 standards; and (vi) DRBFM and FMEA implementation countermeasures.

Manufacturing Engineer

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

Diamond Electric Manufacturing Corporation seeks a Manufacturing Engineer at our headquarters in Eleanor, West Virginia responsible for working within the Lead Manufacturing Engineering Team to design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes. Specific duties of the position include: (i) coordinating quality, inventory, logistics, materials, costs, and production functions as a manufacturing specialist; (ii) designing, quoting, and purchasing small to medium-scope project tooling in close coordination with the Lead Manufacturing Engineer; (iii) making PLC/HMI changes to equipment; (iv) monitoring daily defect and downtime issues and reporting findings to the Lead Manufacturing Engineer; (v) leading small to medium-scope equipment modification projects; and (vi) modifying documentation based off of the recommendation/guidance of the Lead Manufacturing Engineer.

Must possess a bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering plus three (3) years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering position.

Must have experience (can be concurrent) with each of the following: (i) two (2) years with CAD or PLC’s; (ii) two (2) years developing automated systems; and (iii) any experience with Microsoft Office.

Must be willing and able to work with manufacturing equipment including maintenance.
